Poor indoor air quality in schools can reduce student performance and increase absenteeism. To help address this problem, Alen Corporation is providing up to $50,000 in resources for schools to improve their indoor air quality.
AUSTIN, TX (
PRWEB) February 12, 2007 -- Alen Corporation announced today an educational grant program aimed at improving indoor air quality in schools, cited by the EPA as a cause of symptoms that decreases student performance in school. This grant provides resources to schools and school districts seeking to improve their indoor air quality (IAQ).
According to one EPA report, "…poor IAQ may directly reduce a person's ability to perform specific mental tasks requiring concentration, calculation, or memory." In addition, this same report cited asthma-related illness as one of the leading causes of school absenteeism.
"Based on the research we have seen, poor indoor air quality in schools is a widespread problem that impacts many
families," says Peter Mann, CEO of Alen Corporation. "In addition to making our air purifiers available to schools, we recognize that more needs to be done. Our goal is to help as many schools as possible through the new Alen Educational Grant program."
The Alen educational grant program provides resources to those schools that have recognized poor IAQ as a problem. Schools must meet the criteria and agree to the details of the program in order to be eligible for these grants. Alen has committed up to $50,000 in resources for this program in 2007, as well as offering discounts to teachers, faculty members, and students.
Alen air purifiers are currently available from authorized Alen dealers throughout the United States. For more information about the Alen Educational Grant program, visit
